Contracts and consent: checking what you can license
Before any deal, confirm the records are yours to license.
Owning a file is not always the same as being free to license it. A short review before your first call saves time later.
Customer contracts
Some customer agreements restrict how communications or deliverables can be shared. Check your standard terms and any large client contracts for confidentiality clauses.
Employee agreements and policies
Review your employee handbook and agreements to understand how internal communications are treated. Anonymization addresses personal details, but your counsel should confirm your position.
Partner and vendor material
Documents that came from vendors or partners may carry their own restrictions. Flag them and decide whether to exclude them.
Bring in counsel
This is not legal advice. Your attorney should review what you plan to license and the final terms of any deal. Sakuya helps you identify the questions early so nothing surprises you at the quote stage.
Our average deal size is between $250K and $1M. Find out what your records are worth in a few quick questions.
